Open Outlook either from your Desktop shortcut or from the Start buttonAll Apps. Click the File tab and point to Info. You may see your existing Account Information below Info. To prepare a new AOL email accounts, click Add Account. This may direct you to the Insert New Account window. In the Name field, enter your name.
Input a valid AOL Download address at the E-mail Speech box and password in the Password field. Click on the button beside Manually configure server settings or additional server types and hit the Next button. Click the Internet E-mail button and then hit Next. When in Internet E-mail Settings, then enter your name and email address under User Info.
Under Server Information, click to select IMAP in the drop-down arrow beside Account Form and fill the incoming & outgoing server details. Type" (without quotations ) in the Incoming Mail Server box while" in the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) box. Under Logon Information, enter your name and email address in the relevant boxes.
Check the Remember Password box. Click on the Settings button. Emphasize the Outgoing Server tab and check the box beside My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Click on the Advanced tab and then input'587' from the Outgoing server (SMTP) box. Click on the OK button. You will return to the Insert New Account window. If you would like to check your settings before exiting the window, click on the Test Account Settings button.
Microsoft Outlook will examine your AOL account settings and respond accordingly. If the testing goes successfully, you will understand a congratulating message. If the testing yields an error message, then click on the OK button and then go back to review the settings.
In case you find spelling or placing mistakes, fix them. It is mandatory to spell your email address, password, and incoming & outgoing server info, etc. correctly. Check the port number too for the SMTP server. In the event you've forgotten or lost your passwordcontact AOL and request it.
